Strabeach Water Park Dormagen

Lake Straberg is a popular local recreation area in Dormagen, northwest of Cologne. This lake is frequented by walkers and day trippers who enjoy the growing infrastructure. These include the wakeboard park "Wakebeach / Strabeach", which also attracts visitors from the wider region to Dormagen.

As the wakeboard park is located outside the city, most guests arrive by car. On sunny, warm weekend and vacation days, the rush of visitors is not only considerable for the wakeboard facility and the adjoining restaurants. At the same time, many day-trippers look for a parking space in the immediate vicinity of the lake.

The challenge was to organize the parking situation optimally, even during peak times. The parking area was to remain open to everyone, but Strabeach/Wakebeach and event customers were to receive a discount. In close consultation with the operators, we implemented the solution within three months. Three stationary parking ticket machines are located at different locations on or near the parking area. In order to cope with the rush at busy times, these are supplemented by hand-held devices if necessary. Parallel to the decline in the still active gravel dredging operation at Straberger See, the leisure and local recreation concept will be further expanded by 2042. An increase in visitors and the number of parked cars is therefore to be expected, but this can be met calmly thanks to the flexible infrastructure at the parking area and the seamless support provided by PRM.

Thanks to the close, trusting cooperation between PRM and the operators of the wakeboard park, immediate adaptation to changing conditions or requirements for the parking area is possible at any time and without delay. The friendly and competent PRM service team is always on hand to deal with any questions, difficulties or suggestions from parking lot users.
